PSP Official Firmware 2.71
File Description
Well, after the 2.71 news update, we finally have the 2.7 upgrade
eboot. We've already documented the new features in the earlier
article. I'll still just go thru the new 'features' if you can call
them that.
* Game demos like Loco Roco and Kazuo can be downloaded and stored on Memory Stick
* Some fixes related to Location Free Base Players (LF-B1 and LF-X11)
I'll say it even though most of you guys know it. Homebrew doesn't run
on 2.7 and above currently. Period. If you upgrade your PSP, you're
doing it at your own discretion.
In case you're hell bent of getting rid of homebrew on your PSP, go
ahead and download the update. After saving the EBOOT.PBP file, make a
UPDATE folder in the PSP folder of the Memory Stick, and put the file
in there. And yes, before upgrading, remember to say bye-bye to
homebrew.

PSP Official Firmware 3.5x
File Description
Now straight right out of the official U.S. site of Sony, PSP Firmware 3.50 is available below for your perusal.
So what exactly are we looking at here? The biggest feature of this FW
update is your handheld compatibility with its console brother, the
PS3. The recent FW 1.80 for the PS3 opened up Remote Play, and now,
this PSP FW 3.50 is what will finally make things go full circle. Here's
a changelog from the Sony's NA site:
Network
* You can now connect a PSP system to a PS3 system via the Internet using [Remote Play].
* [Communication Settings] has been added as an option to the [Remote Play] menu.
* [RSS Channel Guide] has been added as a feature under [RSS Channel].

PSP Official Firmware 3.7x
File Description
* You can now set custom themes in [Theme Settings] under [Settings].
* Support
has been added for assigning buttons in [Remote Play].
* A scene search feature has been added under [Video].
* Sequential playback is now supported under [Video].
* Simultaneous playback of content under [Music] and [Photo] is now supported.
Now stress has been given that the firmware update is strictly for
North American PSP-1001s and not PSP-2000s (PSP Slim & Lites) nor
for any PSP model purchased outside of the US. Also, we've got hold of
the PBP format version (the one you can save on your PC) so you can
think twice about going through with the update.
